About the role
The Quality Director plays a crucial role in overseeing quality improvement and risk management activities across Samaritan Hospital and Samaritan Clinic. They are responsible for training, educating, and empowering staff to integrate quality and process improvement principles into their work.
Responsibilities
- Develop and facilitate organizational-wide quality improvement and risk management activities
- Train and educate medical staff, leadership, and employees on quality and process improvement
- Provide leadership in creating and improving the patient, employee, physician, and student experience at Samaritan
- Ensure compliance with healthcare laws, rules, and regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Quality Assurance, Nursing, or related field
- Master’s degree in related field preferred
- Current Washington State RN License
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred
- Seven (7) years healthcare experience
- Five (5) or more years’ experience in developing, monitoring, facilitating, and presenting QI/Risk programs
- Three (3) years of leadership experience in healthcare setting
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Quality Assurance, Nursing, or related field or equivalent experience. Master’s degree in related field preferred.
- Experience: Seven (7) years healthcare experience, five (5) or more years’ experience in developing, monitoring, facilitating, and presenting QI/Risk programs, three (3) years of leadership experience in healthcare setting.
- Skills: Extensive experience in curriculum development, instructional design, and program management. Strong leadership skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in QI/Risk technologies, QI/Risk systems, and multimedia tools, demonstrated ability to assess QI/Risk outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives.
Skills
- Lean experience a plus
- Grant writing and fundraising experience desirable
- Certification in QI/Risk philosophies (LEAN/Six Sigma) advantageous
Physical Requirements
- Most of the time spent indoors in well-lit, temperature-controlled environment
- Occasional standing, walking, lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to communicate using verbal and/or written skills for accurate exchange of information with physicians, nurses, health care professionals, patients, and the public
