About the role

The role involves reducing the risk of patients and staff at Knoxville Hospital and Clinics being exposed to infections. Key responsibilities include establishing and analyzing infection control patient safety, developing a system for documenting and educating on infection prevention control, facilitating a facility-wide control plan, and participating in antimicrobial stewardship.

Responsibilities

• Establish and analyze infection control patient safety
• Develop an operative system for documenting, recording illnesses and/or injuries
• Educate physicians, employees, and the community on infection prevention control
• Facilitate a facility-wide control plan
• Participate in antimicrobial stewardship

Requirements

• Current license as a Registered Nurse in Iowa
• Current BLS with ACLS and PALS within one year
• Mandatory reporter training
• One year infection control experience preferred

Qualifications

• Complete all annual competency training
• Maintain license and/or certification

• Strong infection control knowledge
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
