Responsibilities
- Manage data entry for material inspection records within the company’s quality systems.
- Process and maintain quality documentation including inspections, audits, complaints, and rejected material reports.
- Manage mill certificates and test reports to ensure traceability and compliance with customer requirements.
- Aid in drafting reports, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality-related correspondence.
- Act as backup for the Quality Engineer, providing coverage during absences and supporting key quality processes.
- Oversee and manage the customer claims process, ensuring timely resolution and clear documentation of each case.
- Coverage of quality issues and concerns, ensuring customer expectations are met and corrective actions are communicated.
- Coordinate with customers to address quality issues and concerns, ensuring customer expectations are met.
- Support interim containment actions and assist in addressing rejected material.
- Aid in mill defect reports (DMRs) and coordinate with internal teams to resolve vendor issues.
- Provide support during internal audits and participate in continuous improvement projects.
- Aid the Quality Manager with material investigations and dispositions.
- Aid in preparation and processing of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) requests.
- Review and approve daily customer certifications in collaboration with the Quality Manager.
- Communicate and coordinate with interdepartmental teams responsible for shipping inventory from within Wieland facilities, ensuring quality expectations are met.
- Work closely with Production Operators to resolve quality-related discrepancies.
- Cookordination with Scheduling, Materials, Sales, and other departments to ensure quality expectations are met.
- Support the Quality Team with additional tasks as assigned to maintain compliance with internal and external quality standards.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in office administration, data entry, or quality-related roles.
- Knowledge of ISO/QS quality standards and requirements preferred.
- Understanding of quality processes, production environments, metal manufacturing, or related industries.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Proficiency with Oracle Systems preferred.
- Strong computer and data entry skills.
- Ability to perform unit conversions and basic calculations.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Professional communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to coordinate directly with customers and internal stakeholders on quality-related matters.
