About the Role
The Quality Control Technician will comprehend specifications to determine testing and inspection procedures and equipment. The candidate must read dials or digital displays, compare results with specifications, record test and inspection data, and confer with engineers, technicians, and production personnel. This role requires daily onsite attendance and is not remote.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections on materials, products, assemblies, and sub-assemblies.
- Read drawings, comprehend specifications and tolerances, and use dial indicators and digital gages to compare results with specifications.
- Perform dimensional checks and visual verifications of fabricated and machined parts to acceptance criteria.
- Use measurement, test equipment, and functional gages to determine if product meets stated requirements.
- Validate the quality of machined and fabricated parts and assemblies for dimensional accuracy and visual verification.
- Review data supplied with material and parts, such as dimensional reports, traceability reports, and certificates of conformity.
- Liaise with suppliers to maintain product, documentation, and service quality.
- Adhere to requirements of Gage Calibration and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
- Develop and maintain inspection plans per drawing requirements.
- Interpret inspection results and assist more experienced technicians in technical tasks.
- Mentor or provide technical guidance to junior inspectors and technicians.
- Document, investigate, and track non-conformances and inspection records in SmartSolve modules (Inspection Management, Non-Conformance, CAPA).
- Complete inspections such as FAT, SIT, FAI, In-Process, Final, and Receiving inspections.
- Work as a team member when performing or witnessing inspections for internal and external customers, third parties, and engineering/manufacturing representatives.
- Assist in developing and improving quality system procedures, work instructions, flow charts, and process improvements.
- Use safe material handling and preservation techniques, including operating forklifts and jib cranes.
- Perform product identification for traceability, including verification and physical marking.
- Support customer satisfaction and loyalty processes, as well as Health and Safety (HSE) performance initiatives.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements.
- Knowledge and experience in advanced quality inspection techniques.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Desired Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of ISO 17020 and ISO 17025.
- Knowledge of NDT methodologies.

Working Conditions
- Generally, work performed indoors (80%) and occasional outdoors (20%).
- Hours depend on assigned shift.
- Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace.
- Stable (flat) work surface.
- Requires manual dexterity for working with measuring and testing equipment, marking, and hand/power tools.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Occasional: Lift 20-50 pounds, work in confined spaces, kneel, jump, run, work while lying on stomach/back, crawl, use repetitive arm/hand movements.
- Frequent: Lift 10-25 pounds, climb stairs/ladders, stand, balance, stoop, squat, reach, lift/carry objects, twist body, sit with back supported, head forward/flexed, head tilted/rotated, work with arms extended overhead, wear PPE for skin protection.
- Constant: Lift up to 10 pounds, wear PPE for body, vision, and hearing protection.
