Quality Control Technician

Rogers Group, Inc. is currently seeking an individual for the QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN position in Southern TN, with operations to be based at our Rutherford, TN quarry location, and support QC operations in the surrounding area.

Job Responsibilities

• Testing materials produced to assure compliance with internal and external specifications
• Providing technical services and support to internal and external customers
• Supporting efforts to guarantee compliance with environmental agencies
• Understanding of chemical analysis
• Attention to detail and maintaining control charts and other required records

Qualifications

• Uncompromising focus on safety
• High School diploma required
• Test selection of materials produced to ascertain production of quality materials in an effective and cost-efficient manner
• Maintain control charts and other records required
• Computer and data entry skills required
• Skilled in operating quality control lab equipment and testing materials
• Demonstrable knowledge of aggregate testing procedures including gradations, XRF/chemistry testing, crushed count, deleterious count, basic geological knowledge
• Ability to problem solve and demonstrate critical thinking
• Ability to lift 50 pounds continuously throughout the day
• Basic mechanical/repair skills
• Basic math and computing/technology skills
• Flexible schedule (possible night and Saturday shifts)
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills; be able to work on a team
• Self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision
• Operate testing equipment and company vehicles in a responsible and safe manner
• May be called upon at discretion of the Manager or Quality Control Manager to perform and other duties assigned and/or to assist other departments if necessary
• Perform daily housekeeping operations and maintain a clean lab environment
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen

Pay

Wages starting at $22.00/hr. Higher pay for skilled operators of heavy equipment with mining and quarry experience. Overtime available.
