Duties And Responsibilities

  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Use dimensional measuring devices to ensure product meets job order specifications, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Enter all test results into the company database and manage documents.
  • Communicate quality issues with engineering, shipping and scheduling daily.
  • Enforce safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Participate in U.L. audits on a quarterly basis.
  • Act as plant liaison to the Tech Center in regard to all QC functions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis regarding quality issues, identify and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Assist external and internal quality audits.
  • Absorb and assist Production teams with process changes, quality plan documentation, and test requirement updates.
  • Absorb and assist customer service and sales teams to respond to customer questions in relation to product capability and limitations.
  • Help to drive continuous quality improvement and scrap reduction across the site.
  • Perform quality assurance tests and visual inspections of raw materials, intermediary products, and finished goods per work instructions.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Maintain math skills up to Algebra and Trigonometry.
  • Must demonstrate safe working practices and possess great attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow CWT’s policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Good communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Basic computer, mathematics, and problem-solving skills; ability to use a calculator.
  • Ability to use measuring devices (gauges, tapes, rulers).
  • Team player that is able to follow instructions from both management and peers.
  • Ability to learn and operate new equipment.

Education And Experience

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Six (6) months to one (1) year related experience required.

Working Conditions

  • This position conducts its work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to some odors.
  • Use of the following equipment in the course of the job duties:
    • Universal testing machine.
    • Power Tools.
    • Dimensional measuring devices.
    • Tape Measure.
    • Moisture Meter.
    • Forklift/Clamp Truck.
    • Computer and Phone.

Physical Requirements

  • OCCASIONALLY: LIFTING OR CARRYING 1-10 LBS, PUSHING OR PULLING 1-40 LBS, BENDING OR STOOPING, REACHING ABOVE SHOULDER LEVEL, DRIVING AUTOMATIC EQUIP. VEHICLES, OPERATE MACHINERY OR POWER TOOLS, CLIMBING (LADDERS, STAIRS, ETC.), WALKING, STANDING, SITTING, WORKING IN EXTREME TEMPERATURES, REPETITIVE MOTION INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: WRISTS, HANDS AND/OR FINGERS, VISION, HEARING, DEXTERITY, HAND EYE COORDINATION.
  • OTHER PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) USED: Eye and hearing protection is required at all times on the production floor. Safety toe shoes (steel/composite) Hi-Vis Vests Other PPE as defined by management within assigned department.

Physical Demands

  • Occasionally: Lifting or carrying up to 10 lbs, pushing or pulling up to 40 lbs, bending or stooping, reaching above shoulder level, driving automatic vehicles, operating machinery or power tools, climbing ladders, stairs, etc., walking, standing, sitting, working in extreme temperatures, repetitive motion including wrists, hands, and/or fingers, vision, hearing, dexterity, hand-eye coordination.
  • Continuously: Using personal protective equipment (PPE) such as eye and hearing protection, safety toe shoes (steel/composite), Hi-Vis Vests, and other PPE as defined by management within assigned department.
