Quality Control Technician

As a Quality Technician at our Millington, MD Facility, you will provide Quality Assurance support to improve internal and outgoing product quality while helping ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving, in-process, and final product inspections and testing to verify quality requirements.
• Utilize measuring tools and inspection equipment to validate dimensional and functional specifications.
• Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement activities supporting product and manufacturing processes.
• Monitor production processes and products to ensure quality standards are maintained.
• Support containment activities and assist in processing non-conforming products through resolution and closure.
• Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and document inspection results.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Customer Service, Production Planning, and Logistics teams to address quality concerns.
• Support process audits, calibration activities, safety initiatives, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred.
• 2+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• 2+ years of experience using measurement tools and inspection techniques preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and manufacturing or fabrication experience.
• Experience working with Quality Management Systems (QMS) preferred.
• Ability to use measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, DFT gauges, and go/no-go gauges.
• Ability to read blueprints, work instructions, procedures, and complete required documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Basic math and geometry skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Able to operate hand tools and test equipment.
• Ability to stand, walk, use hands, bend, kneel, maintain balance, climb, and reposition to support production needs.
• Medium work classification requiring the ability to lift, carry, or move materials up to 50 lbs occasionally, 30 lbs frequently, and 10 lbs consistently.

Qualifications

Pay

Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives. Pay Transparency nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
