Duties & Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming raw materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct visual inspections, measurements, and functional tests using manual and automated tools.
- Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and logs.
- Communicate and collaborate with production staff to correct defects and implement improvements.
- Maintain calibration of testing and measuring equipment.
- Aid in the development and implementation of quality control processes, procedures, and standards.
- Identify and report quality issues, non-conformances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Participate in internal audits and support external audits as needed.
- Provide training and guidance to production teams regarding quality standards and procedures.
- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvements to enhance product quality and efficiency.
Skills & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required, associate’s degree or technical certification in Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
- Minimum [1] years of experience in a quality control or inspection role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality control standards, manufacturing processes, and inspection techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
- Proficient in using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMMs.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, ERP systems).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and root cause analysis (RCA) methods.
- Certification such as ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to [50] pounds as needed.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
