Responsibilities

  • Efficiently performs set-up, running, and monitoring of any of the Slitting machines.
  • Exercises strong working knowledge about the defects associated with Finished Goods materials and can make all required judgements as to a film’s quality and usability.
  • Prepares slitting documents, core-tags, box labels and quality documents and training documents without immediate supervision.
  • Affords assistance in the packaging of materials when needed including making boxes, packaging material, stacking packaged material on pallets, and moving pallets of completed film.
  • Affords assistance in the training and supervision of less experienced operators.
  • Might occasionally performs lead operator responsibilities when lead operator is not available.
  • Properly and thoroughly informs the relieving shift and department superiors about machine and production status, material processes, department or job needs and priorities, and problems of observations.
  • Strictly follows standard operating procedures, set-up specifications, supervisor’s instructions, safety regulations and housekeeping policies. Follows procedures for any deviation to the above.
  • Provides regular suggestions and feedback to Slitting supervisors concerning department problems, process improvements, machine operation and safety hazards.
  • Ensures, indirectly, that all phases of the Slitting operation are performed in an efficient manner.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of math related to company processes and procedures.
  • Strong mechanical ability, troubleshooting skills, and attention to detail in slitting procedures.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skill as it relates to slitting procedures and company processes.
  • Beginning knowledge of other department’s procedures as it relates to film construction, winding techniques, shipping procedures and metallizing process.
  • High school graduate. One or two years of college or four-year military service preferred.

Pay

The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate plus Bonus, annualized (40 hrs/week * 52wks)) for this position, is $41,100 to $64,000.
