Quality Control Manager / SSHO

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a QCM and/or SSHO on federal, VA, DoD, or comparable heavy commercial construction projects
• USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors certification (current within 5 years) – required for VA federal projects
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification (current); OSHA 510 or equivalent preferred
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing Quality Control Plans and Accident Prevention Plans on government contracts
• Working knowledge of EM 385-1-1 (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Safety and Health Requirements Manual)
• Experience conducting three-phase QC inspections and maintaining associated documentation to VA or Corps of Engineers standards
• Ability to pass VA background investigation and obtain Medical Center facility access credentials
• Valid driver’s license; proficiency with construction management software for document control and reporting

Skills

• Thorough understanding of VA and OSHA construction safety requirements
• Familiarity with EM 385-1-1 (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Safety and Health Requirements Manual)
• Experience with underground utility and electrical construction QC and safety requirements
• Working knowledge of NPDES stormwater permitting and SWPPP management on construction sites
• Experience coordinating with VA Contracting Officers and CORs on submittal review and QC documentation
