Quality Control Manager
Job Responsibilities
Educate and manage the overall quality program at the plant, ensuring all fabricated steel meets customer specs, AISC standards, and delivery schedules.
Collaborate with production and project management teams to enforce quality procedures, maintain documentation, and support project execution.
Supervise and develop QC Inspectors; provide training, conduct performance reviews, and handle disciplinary actions when needed.
Oversee AISC compliance, welder certifications, welding procedures, and prepare the shop for successful audits and inspections.
Clock with DOT inspectors and customer engineers to schedule inspections, address concerns, and ensure timely completion of required documentation.
Manage internal and outsourced testing programs, including NDT and magnetic particle testing; maintain inspection logs and tool calibration.
Serve as part of the Plant Leadership Team, contributing to operational planning and maintaining the company’s Quality Control Manual.
Requirements
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience leading a quality control function with welding in a heavy manufacturing environment
- NACE or SSPC Level I paint certification, or ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of hire
- Bridge experience preferred
- UT/MT/VT level II certifications, preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related field preferred

Our Eau Claire location is seeking a CWI-certified Quality Control Manager to lead and oversee all quality-related activities in structural steel fabrication, ensuring work meets established standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement in collaboration with the company-wide QC team.
