Quality Control Inspector

6-month contract position located in Sparks, MD. 40 hours per week on 1st shift (Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM). Pay rate: $20–$30/hr. Open to US citizens or Green Card holders only.

About the role

Performs visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on a wide variety of medical-device products in accordance with internal procedures and product specifications. Reports non-conformances to the supervisor, discusses corrective action, and follows up to verify effectiveness. Determines product acceptability, initiates rejection notices, and maintains accurate written records of inspections and results.

Responsibilities

• Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on medical-device products.
• Report non-conformances and recommend corrective actions.
• Follow up to ensure corrective actions are effective.
• Decide whether products are acceptable or must be rejected; initiate rejection notices.
• Maintain accurate written records of all inspections and results.
• Identify conditions outside specific inspection areas that require action and escalate to the supervisor.
• Monitor compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (G.M.P.) in employee work areas and report infractions for corrective action.
• Evaluate both product and process, making decisions on subjective visual inspections.
• Impact product quality, productivity, and costs through rework, scrap, and warranty considerations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One to two years of related Quality Control experience or equivalent.
• Demonstrated human-relations and communication skills.
• Ability to withstand repetitive motion and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to read and comprehend English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Six months of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
