Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret complex manufacturing drawings, including limited dimension, model-based, and GD&T.
  • Select appropriate inspection equipment and perform high-tolerance mechanical inspections.
  • Conduct visual inspections according to Kform, customer, and MIL spec workmanship standards.
  • Complete documentation such as dimensional inspection reports and non-conformance documentation.
  • Develop and follow quality plans, including special control plans.
  • Maintain and manage the equipment calibration schedule.
  • Process returns of Non-Conforming Materials (NCM).
  • Perform root cause analysis using the 5 Why methodology.
  • Prioritize inspection activities based on the production schedule.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in quality control or a related field.
  • Familiarity with gauging and inspection equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
  • Ability to interpret complex manufacturing drawings and apply GD&T.
  • Experience in completing first article, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems, including AS9100 standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector or Certified Quality Technician.
  • Experience working in an AS9100 environment.
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods.
  • Experience with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Ability to complete AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR).
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in using computers and standard software.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to perform basic math, including Algebra and Geometry.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with process measurement and improvement techniques.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks based on the production schedule.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and other elements.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Other Requirements

  • Familiarity with safety protocols and operating in a manufacturing environment.
  • Adaptability to work in a changing prototype environment.
