Quality Control Inspector

Quality Assurance Specialist Location: Lakewood, OH Company: Stanley Black & Decker Job Summary As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will support the Stanley Engineered Fastening team in Lakewood, OH by ensuring products meet customer, engineering, and quality standards. This role is responsible for inspecting production parts, completing quality documentation, identifying nonconforming products, and supporting continuous improvement efforts. What You’ll Do Inspect production parts according to blueprints, written specifications, and quality standards.Perform visual inspections and dimensional checks using gauges and measurement equipment.Operate inspection equipment including micrometers, calipers, tensile testers, hardness testers, Keyence systems, and optical comparators.Complete inspection reports and maintain accurate quality documentation within the Quality Management System (QMS).Communicate nonconforming conditions and support root cause investigations.Perform functional testing, equipment checks, tool inspections, audits, and quality verification activities.Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming products.Support problem-solving activities and continuous improvement initiatives.Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.Perform overtime and other duties as needed. Safety Responsibilities Follow all company safety policies and regulatory requirements.Promote safe work practices and Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) principles.Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).Identify and report safety concerns and workplace hazards. Quality & Lean Responsibilities Ensure products meet customer and regulatory requirements through inspection and testing.Support corrective actions and continuous improvement activities.Help identify and resolve quality issues impacting production.Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives including 6S, 6S 360, and SMED events.Follow standardized work instructions and FIFO practices.Support efforts to improve equipment uptime and operational efficiency. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required.Previous experience in manufacturing, production, or quality inspection preferred.Experience in automotive, fastener, or similar manufacturing environments preferred.Knowledge of quality systems such as IATF 16949, ISO 9001, or similar standards preferred.Ability to read blueprints and use inspection measuring tools.Strong attention to detail, documentation, and communication skills.Basic computer skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
