ColonialWebb is hiring a Quality Control Inspector to ensure all welding and mechanical pipe work meets required codes, standards, regulations, and guidelines. This role is instrumental in quality compliance, process efficiency, and continuous improvement.
About the role
As a Quality Control Inspector, you will champion quality improvement methods at every stage of the manufacturing process. ColonialWebb is a full-service MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) contractor with over 50 years of experience delivering comprehensive solutions across New Construction, Mechanical Service, Industrial Refrigeration, and Manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and supervise welding qualification testing in accordance with ASME Section IX and/or AWS D1.1 requirements
- Work with management and supervisors to instill a quality culture throughout all departments
- Maintain welder qualification records using an in-house tracking system
- Conduct welding visual inspection in accordance with applicable codes and standards
- Coordinate scheduling of non-destructive testing by outside contractors
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for quality issues
- Analyze inspection data and generate summary reports for management and the manufacturing team
Requirements
- Experience with quality assurance/quality control
- Computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- High school diploma
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification (ideal)
- NDT Level II Visual Testing Certification
- Understanding of product design, operation, and manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of ANSI/AISC 360-16 Specification for Structural Steel Buildings, Chapter N (Quality Control and Quality Assurance)
- Knowledge of ASME B31.1 & B31.9
