About the role
We are seeking a motivated Quality Control Assembly Inspector to support our work at Centrus Energy in Oak Ridge, TN. In this role, you’ll be hands-on with advanced assemblies, perform detailed inspections at key stages of the build, and be the quality expert that keeps production running smoothly. Your work helps prevent defects, drives consistent quality, and supports safe, compliant manufacturing operations. Responsibilities
- Perform inspections on mechanical and electromechanical assemblies, verifying torque and checking critical dimensions using precision tools.
- Apply GD&T principles, confirm labeling and traceability, and ensure workmanship meets all specifications.
- Maintain accurate, compliant documentation; identify and report defects; and communicate findings clearly to technicians, engineers, and supervisors.
- Keep tools calibrated and in good condition, support measurement system checks, and ensure no assembly moves forward without proper inspection release.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, participate in briefings, raise concerns proactively, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- U.S. Citizenship due to federal contract security requirements.
- Ability to successfully pass a federal background investigation to secure and maintain DOE Q security clearance if required.
- Experience in mechanical assembly, quality inspection, or technical related work.
- Hands-on experience with precision measurement tools.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and understand basic GD&T.
- Knowledge of assembly sequencing and fastener requirements.
- Familiarity with inspection plans and digital inspection tools.
- Ability to work independently with sound judgment.
- Basic understanding of calibration and measurement systems.

- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing (marijuana use prohibited under Federal Law).
Preferred Qualifications
- NQA-1 and/or DOE related experience.
- Active Q Clearance.
Location Details
- Onsite position in Oak Ridge, TN.
- Initial W2 contract with conversion and/or extension options.
