About the Role

Provides accountability and coordination for their area of responsibility at Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health Wiregrass Ranch Hospital, a new 380,000-square-foot, five-story multi-specialty hospital in Wesley Chapel. The facility opens with 102 beds (expandable to 300) and features nine advanced operating rooms, including a hybrid OR with real-time imaging, delivering comprehensive services in cardiology, neurology, oncology, surgery, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with outlying facilities and agencies to align protocols with evidence-based guidelines.
  • Ensures a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  • Participates in budget preparation and committee functions as assigned.
  • Practices effective problem identification and resolution using evidence-based methods.
  • Serves as a role model demonstrating expertise in patient care and functions as a patient advocate.
  • Maintains focus on the educational growth of patients, families, team members, and self.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan and implements culturally sensitive interventions.
  • Promotes collaboration within the organization through participation in departmental and hospital programs, committees, and special projects.
  • Complies with all regulatory and accrediting requirements.
  • Ensures safety, health, and regulatory standards are met in the practice area.
  • Manages human resources functions, including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and performance counseling.
  • Plans and coordinates process improvement activities.
  • Functions as the corporate liaison between administration, medical staff, and team members.
  • Oversees staff development, identifies risk management issues, and monitors compliance with policies, guidelines, safety, and infection control.
  • Monitors staff attendance at mandatory meetings.
  • Compiles, analyzes, and interprets data.
  • Builds interpersonal relationships using excellent communication skills and team-building strategies.
  • Provides care as described in the department’s policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an approved school of nursing, or a bachelor’s degree or higher from an approved program in physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech therapy.
  • Associate degree or graduate from an accredited two-year college program in Physical Therapist Assistant or Occupational Therapist Assistant (if applicable).
  • Three years of experience in nursing, including two years of clinical experience.
  • Current RN, SLP-CCC, PT, PTA, COTA, or OT license in the state of Florida.
