About the Role

Together with BWCC’s Operations Leadership Team, the Quality Assurance Specialist will strengthen the QA/QC culture and enhance predictability of performance throughout the territory. The specialist ensures that products and services meet desired quality standards, develops and implements quality control procedures, monitors product performance, and identifies and addresses quality issues. The role involves conducting audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all quality inspections within assigned projects through the Global Quality Resource Coordinator.
  • Oversee projects and products to ensure adherence to the B&W Global Quality process, including:
    • Specification Review
    • Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) Development
    • Pre-Inspection Meeting with Client and Vendor Resources for the Execution of the ITP
    • Management of all Non-Conformance Reports and their Disposition or Resolution
    • Determine if Corrective Action is needed and involve Vendor Control as required
  • Ensure client meetings are conducted and post-fabrication documentation (e.g., ASME Code Data books, client product dossier) is prepared properly and transmitted to appropriate parties.
  • Ensure inspections are performed by the “geographically closest qualified inspector” using B&W global quality resources or third-party inspectors.
  • Ensure all necessary quality data is entered into the appropriate program to track, analyze, and report on quality performance.
  • Interact with other managers to ensure a fully coordinated quality program.
  • Participate in quality improvements across the quality system, offices, shops, and vendors.
  • Handle client complaints.
  • Support ASME, ISO, and other certification audit processes.
  • Perform internal and external audits as directed by Global Quality.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (Vocational/Technical work experience will be accepted in lieu of degree).
  • Preferred: 10+ years’ experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
  • Foreign assignment experience is a plus but not required.

Skills

  • Ability to react positively to internal and external client requests.
  • Experience in fabrication by welding, manufacturing, pressure part fabrication, and structural steel/plate fabrication.
  • Familiarity with ASME, AWS, and ISO codes.
  • Project management focus (cradle-to-grave client relationships, problem-solving, vendor claims, root cause analysis, etc.).

Working Conditions

  • Domestic travel required.
  • Manufacturing environment.
