Responsibilities

- Familiarize and understand applicable regulations, inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to determine the airworthiness of a component on which maintenance, preventive maintenance or alterations is performed.
- Ensure inspections are within the applicable regulatory authority.
- Comply with all applicable regulatory, customer, and internal requirements.
- Be proficient and qualified in proper inspection procedures such as but not limited to incoming, in process (hidden damage) and final.
- Implement policies and procedures set forth in the various CCS Quality Manuals and Procedures.
- Understand and implement applicable civil aviation regulations as defined by the FAA, EASA, CAAC, CAAT, JCAB or other recognized civil authority.
- Ensure inspections are done in accordance with approved data such as the Original Engine Manufacturer Manuals, the customer’s manual or other data approved by the administrator.
- Ensure equipment used for inspections is in good working condition and calibration is current, as applicable.
- Read and use calibrated tools such as vernier calipers, height gages, pi-tapes, plug gages, dial calipers, dial indicators, protractors, radius gages, hardness testers, dial bore gauges, thickness gauges, omni gauges, go/no go gauges, and micrometers.
- Verify part number and serial number match customer paperwork upon receiving items for maintenance.
- Document all inspections properly in blue or black ink.
- Report quality system deficiencies to Quality Management.
- Display a good mechanical aptitude.
- Continually look for ways to increase efficiency and productivity, while maintaining the required level of quality.
- Assist engineering in introducing new repairs and techniques.
- Review process routings to optimize workflow.
- Propose additional equipment/tooling or modifications to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Define and propose necessary repairs based on traveler and drawing operations.
- Ensure proper documentation and certifications are included with components.
- Ensure inspection tools and equipment are in proper working order and have correct calibration information.
- Maintain clean, orderly, and safe working conditions.
- Perform other duties as company workload dictates.
- Work any shift as needed due to company needs.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in basic dimensional/visual inspection on aviation related equipment (airframe, powerplant, and/or avionic).
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Read, speak, write, and effectively communicate in English.
- Read and interpret various types of precision measurement equipment.
- Read and interpret documents such as OEM maintenance manuals, customer specifications, and regulatory authorities.
- Add, subtract, multiply, and divide units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Operate industrial truck or electric hoist.
- Frequent lifting, pulling, and pushing.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Software.
- Effectively communicate with peers, subordinates, supervisors, and management personnel, customers, and 2nd and 3rd party auditors.
- Good organizational and planning skills.
- Maintain effectiveness in stressful situations.
- At least 1 year relevant aviation work experience.
- Airframe and Powerplant FAA certifications preferred.
