Quality Assurance - QC Inspector 1st shift
About the role
The Quality Inspector is responsible for reviewing aerospace components and details during manufacturing to ensure they meet company requirements. Duties include measuring jet engine components and details to assure they meet physical specifications and engine manual requirements, creating necessary documentation to verify conformity, recommending adjustments and changes to production processes, inspecting and testing components and details machined or fabricated by Operations, using gadgets like micrometers, verniers, tapes, gauges to measure products, removing products that do not meet production standards and documenting quality errors, accepting or rejecting finished products and discussing inspection results with the Operations and Engineering team, performing product audits to ensure the process can produce hardware.
Responsibilities
- Measure and inspect jet engine components and details to ensure they meet physical specifications and engine manual requirements.
- Create necessary documentation to verify conformity.
- Recommend any necessary adjustments and changes to production processes.
- Inspect and test components and details machined or fabricated by Operations.
- Use gadgets such as micrometers, verniers, tapes, gauges to measure products.
- Remove products that do not meet production standards and document the quality error.
- Accept or reject finished products and discuss inspection results with the Operations and Engineering team.
- Perform product audits to ensure the process can produce hardware.
Qualifications
- Read blueprints, specifications, and engine manuals to ensure components meet production standards.
- Recommend any necessary adjustments and changes to production processes.
- Inspect and test components and details machined or fabricated by Operations.
- Use gadgets such as micrometers, verniers, tapes, gauges to measure products.
- Remove products that do not meet production standards and document the quality error.
- Accept or reject finished products and discuss inspection results with the Operations and Engineering team.
- Perform product audits to ensure the process can produce hardware.
Requirements
- Associate degree in an aviation-related field preferred.
- At least 1 year of relevant aviation work experience preferred.
- 1-6 years' experience in basic dimensional/visual inspection required on aviation-related equipment (airframe, powerplant, and/or avionics).
- Certify visual acuity to NAS-410.
- Airframe and Powerplant FAA certifications preferred.
Skills
- Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
