About the role

Chromalloy is a global engineering & solutions company providing aftermarket parts, repairs, and solutions for aircraft engines and gas turbines. We develop, manufacture, and repair critical turbine components for various industries.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving, Induction Inspections:

    • Open shipping containers and validate packing slips.
    • Performs contract review and reads and interprets customer and flow-down requirements (SPOC’s).
    • Assigns tracking numbers, job and lot numbers.
    • Assigns job travelers.
    • Verifies part count and performs visual inspections on each component.
    • Documents incoming discrepancies and takes appropriate actions to correct non-conformities.
    • Works to the production schedule and releases components according to the delivery plan.
  • In-Process and Outsourcing Inspections:

    • Works to the production schedule for in-process and outsourcing inspections to meet delivery dates.
    • Performs in-process inspections in accordance with Chromalloy routing instructions, ensuring compliance with technical data, customer, and specification requirements.
    • Audits routing to validate all prior operations have been processed according to the routing instructions and verifies each component complies with quality requirements.
    • Aids production personnel in resolving quality issues and concerns.
    • Affirms vendor status and ensures they are on the approved vendor list.
    • Creates purchase orders for spot operations and routes components for processing.
    • Files both incoming and outgoing documentation.
    • Reviews incoming certifications to ensure purchased items and services conform to contracts and specifications, documenting discrepancies and taking appropriate actions to correct non-conformities.
    • Documents observations and makes recommendations for process improvement.
    • Completes internal paperwork and validates accurate documentation for each process.
    • Completes certification of compliance.
    • Packages products in accordance with customer and Chromalloy requirements.
  • Final Inspection:

    • Works to the production schedule for final inspections to meet delivery dates.
    • Inspects for completion of all manufacturing processes.
    • Necessary measures components using precision measuring devices such as micrometers and dial calipers.
    • Documents discrepancies and takes appropriate actions to correct non-conformities.
    • Ensures components comply with customer requirements and validates lab results.
    • Verifies part count, serial numbers, and lot number control.
    • Completes internal paperwork and validates accurate documentation for each process.
    • Completes certification of compliance.
    • Packages products in accordance with customer and Chromalloy requirements.
  • General Duties:

    • Implements mistake-proofing methods.
    • Works with supporting departments, Quality, and Engineering to create inspection methods for repeatability and correlation with inspection methods.
    • Assists in the disposition of non-conforming product and proposes solutions to eliminate defects.
    • Evaluates reject data, separating process defects from training issues, and communicates training needs to the supervisor.
    • Communicates scheduling constraints to the department supervisor and production planner to ensure customer expectations are met and parts move quickly after completion to their next operations.
    • Trains lesser-skilled employees.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of quality experience.
  • Ability to perform minor inspection checks using precision measuring devices.
  • Read and apply process specifications, customer, and contract requirements.
  • Read, interpret, and understand B/P requirements.
  • Obtain necessary certifications to comply with all regulatory requirements.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
