About the role
The General Construction Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing the Quality Assurance Program for F. A. Wilhelm Construction. This role ensures all projects meet or exceed quality standards and identifies potential issues to prevent quality-deficient products.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a job-specific Quality Assurance Program
- Enforce F. A. Wilhelm Construction Quality Assurance Program
- Understand and address Quality Assurance needs for various scopes of work including excavation, concrete, masonry, steel, and building enclosures
- Implement and improve the project's Quality Assurance program
- Ensure inspection and testing programs are executed correctly
- Ensure all personnel understand construction methods and code requirements
- Recommend and implement corrective actions based on policies, guidelines, and procedures
- Perform internal audits, inspections, record observations, or nonconformances from job sites
- Track nonconformances and their corrective actions, ensuring the Wilhelm Rework cost control process is used properly
- Lead the development of quality goals for the project
- Evaluate training needs and make recommendations for additional training
- Train staff on related quality items
- Support project team members in developing preconstruction agendas, assist with scope reviews, answer technical questions, conduct code research, or troubleshoot issues
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 – 10 years of Quality Assurance Management experience in construction or similar industry
- Bachelor of Science Degree
- Minimum OSHA 10 Hour Certification
- Thorough knowledge of general construction methods
- Thorough knowledge of AISC Fabrication and Erection Requirements
- Experience in Quality & Inspection of Structural Steel
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA standards
- CWI certification is helpful but not required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Capable of solving complex technical problems with good judgment
Skills and Knowledge
- Thorough knowledge of general construction methods
- Thorough knowledge of AISC Fabrication and Erection Requirements
- Experience in Quality & Inspection of Structural Steel
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA standards
- Knowledge of CWI is helpful but not required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to solve difficult contract and contract-related technical problems with good judgment
