About the role
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for maintaining Agropur's Food Safety and Quality Assurance Program, overseeing various quality programs, and ensuring compliance with government and agency regulations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and implement policies, plans, programs, standards, and techniques to ensure food safety and quality objectives are met.
- Develop and maintain methods and systems to measure food safety and quality, using results to manage QA activities and recommend corrective actions.
- Interface with sales, suppliers, customers, manufacturing, and distribution to establish food safety and quality requirements for individual products and services.
- Manage food safety and quality assurance functions to prevent or eliminate food safety and quality issues, improving product uniformity and reliability.
- Ensure all operations comply with government and agency regulations; manage all audits with such agencies.
- Provide a safe work environment.
- Manage department budget and cost management activities.
- Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Lab Procedures (GLP), Safety policies, regulatory requirements, and organization guidelines.
- Lead and develop staff, manage employee relations, and administer policies and procedures, including work direction, performance reviews, disciplinary action, and compensation recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Operations Management, or related field.
- Minimum three (3) years of quality assurance/control experience, preferably in food processing/dairy production.
- Previous supervisory experience required.
- HACCP Certification required.
- PCQI Certification required.
- SQF Certification required.
- ASQ CMQ/OE Certification preferred.
- CIS preferred.
- High level of leadership skills including strategic thinking, fostering teamwork, cultivating relationships, and leading teams through change.
- Proven ability to manage and develop staff.
- Knowledge of Food Quality and Food Safety programs including GMP, HACCP, CAPA.
- Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.

- Salary range: $102,600 - $128,300 (Salary will be determined based on skills, education, training & experience related to the position)
