Responsibilities
- Work as an NDT certified Level II with supporting departments to plan and coordinate work that is necessary to accomplish complex setups, inspections and modifications of quality requirements to accommodate various aerospace propulsion systems.
- Review and check complex procedures, drawings, work instructions (WI), and specifications to detect errors and interface with planning and/or engineering to recommend changes or revisions to improve efficiencies and methods in nondestructive testing operations.
- Complete, according to requirements, nondestructive test inspections, processes and methods. Plan, coordinate, and perform setups and inspections.
- Maintain appropriate level certifications including required reliability demonstrations.
- Interpret NDT methods specifications and evaluate discontinuities to existing quality documents.
- Visually inspect parts for material defects and irregularities. Witness selection and application of accessories required for pressure tests and visually check tests for any leakage.
- Clean and otherwise process parts for NDT inspection processes. Select or devise appropriate holding devices and make recommendations for the modification of fixtures and tools to accommodate new, unusual, or irregularly shaped parts.
- Generate and develop procedures and technique sheets for approval by a NDT Level III. Perform complex NDT inspections and determine acceptance/rejection to requirements.
- Prepare detailed reports for inspections performed showing defect(s) revealed by the test as applicable.
- Determine root cause(s) and work with others to establish effective corrective action to resolve.
- Responsible for entering pertinent information into all computer systems using the Point of Origin Material Review Board Procedures to ensure historical information is properly maintained.
- Complete and stamp all required documentation to acknowledge accepted/rejected hardware.
- Clean parts requiring minor cleaning after inspection using conventional means.
- Ensure the movement of parts is tracked through applicable systems and carry small parts to their next location or contact inside transportation for the movement of large parts.
- Assure equipment is maintained properly, that supply inventories are adequate and notify Procurement to initiate purchase orders when required.
- Perform over-inspections and audits as required to ensure flow of material through manufacturing process.
- Comply with environmental health and safety regulations and program requirements to ensure safe working conditions and to preserve a healthy environment.
- Perform other related work of a comparable or lower skill level as required.
Requirements
- Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Requires completion of a 2-3 Technical Certification or Trade School or equivalent.
- Requires NAS410 Level II Certification in RT (Radiographic Testing - film or computed radiography).
- PT (Penetrant Testing) certification is a plus.
- Requires well rounded knowledge of nondestructive test practices, procedures, and applications, and dimensional inspection methods.
- Requires ability to make applicable calculations according to established formulas and work from specifications and inspection standards and methods sheets.
- Requires basic knowledge of alloy type and material defect characteristics.
- Requires basic computer skills and the ability to navigate through manufacturing and quality systems.
- Experience and additional certification requirements will depend on the level filled.
Preferred Qualifications
- NDT inspection experience on hardware with brazing, casting, welding, forging material conditions.
- Industrial radiography radiation safety personnel (IRRSP) certification preferred.
- Prior experience in the Aerospace industry is a plus.
- Level III Certification in digital radiography.
Qualifications

Pay
The salary range for this role is $34.94/hr - $56.37/hr. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
