QUALITY ASSURANCE INSPECTOR I

About the Role

Responsible for inspecting incoming, in-process, and final production parts to drawing specifications. Inspects finished firearms from outside vendors and in-house to company standards. Cross-trains to assist where Quality needs arise.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and document findings for incoming, in-process, and final inspection parts.
• Identify and document any mistakes or problems associated with the items being inspected.
• Maintain accurate records of all items inspected.
• Submit reports to the Quality Manager regarding quality and items inspected.
• Utilize basic test equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, CMM, Keyence, Rockwell testers, and surface plate.
• Stay on task with assigned duties.
• Adhere to all employment policies, safety policies, and practices required by law or established by the company.
• Wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment as directed by the company at all times.
• Maintain and keep workstation and department area clean.
• Complete all required paperwork timely and accurately.
• Immediately report any maintenance and/or safety issues to supervisor.
• Maintain respect, courtesy, a positive attitude, and professionalism towards all co-workers and the company.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Proficient with standard measurement tools, height stands, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, and Quality Inspection methodologies.
• Experience with Keyence IM system (preferred).
• Understanding and knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience in reading engineering drawings.
• Ability to interact effectively with a variety of people.
• General mechanical ability.
• Sound problem-solving skills to facilitate solutions during the inspection process.
• Proficient in using Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Able to perform a full layout of dimensional features.
• Experience with ERP system use (preferred).
• Ability to follow directions and prioritize accordingly.

Working Conditions

Work is normally performed throughout a heated manufacturing and warehouse facility. Exposure to extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes, and gases is very limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of light manufacturing, shipping and receiving, and normal office equipment (computers, telephones, etc.). No known environmental hazards are encountered in normal performance of job duties.

Physical Demands

• Ability to operate small hand tools.
• Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs. and ask for assistance if necessary.
• Frequent and repetitive lifting, pushing, and pulling of objects.
• Ability to stand and walk throughout the workday.
• Occasionally required to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
