About the role

Entry-level contract position (3 months, 40 hours/week) as a Quality Assurance Inspector at a leading medical device company in San Diego, CA. Pay rate: $20–$25/hour.

Schedule

First shift: 6:30 AM–3:00 PM during training; flexible hours and overtime available after training completion.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual inspection of bottled products, components, and kits to ensure correct volume, label description, material number, batch number, and storage temperature.
  • Review packaging batch records to verify inclusion of correct Technical Data Sheet and applicable inserts.
  • Review dilution, bottling, and packaging processes to confirm finished products meet specifications before release to Finished Goods Inventory or Inventory Control.
  • File QA retention samples in the QA Retention Sample inventory.
  • Support external customers and internal teams including Operations, Packaging, Production Planning, Technical Product Managers, and Inventory Control.
  • Conduct QA inspection of bottled products and kits/sets.
  • Perform SAP data entry.
  • Review and verify completion of batch records and release products to Finished Goods Inventory.
  • Review and verify raw material supplier documentation and release to inventory.
  • Assist in pulling and maintaining QA retains.
  • Scan completed documents into the company archival system.
  • Perform temperature monitoring of QA freezers.
  • Generate monthly reports.
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
  • Local travel required for inspection of products at different client facilities in San Diego.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; AS degree or college-level science courses are helpful.
  • General office and computer data entry experience; 0–3 years of QA inspection experience.
  • Must be detail-oriented, able to deal with ambiguity, and work both independently and as a team player with minimal supervision.
  • Fast learner with excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email; SAP knowledge preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in various temperature environments (room temperature, 4°C, -20°C, and -80°C).
  • US Citizens or Green Card holders only.

Ideally, resumes should include at least one of the following: QA/inspection work experience, a Bachelor’s degree in life science, or life science laboratory work experience.
