About the role

The individual in this role will generate test documentation, perform end-to-end testing, and build and execute automated test cases.

Responsibilities

  • Translate business requirements and processes into technical requirements and configuration settings specific to software application solutions.
  • Identify and assess risks to programs or projects, recommend risk mitigation strategies, and implement risk reduction plans.
  • Create test strategies that ensure solutions meet standards of functionality, performance, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with team leads and engineering resources to strategize on the testing approach.
  • Execute end-to-end testing efficiently and according to set deadlines.
  • Support and complete test orchestration which will require problem-solving using analysis, experience, and decision-making.
  • Record, log, and track defects in the system and coordinate resolutions with the development team and functional leads.
  • Assess test results to quickly identify and document any defects or undesirable results.
  • Direct projects from a quality assurance perspective, always keeping the end user in mind.
  • Independently own a workstream/product line, reviewing and testing related activities throughout the full life cycle of the project.
  • Participate in daily engineering meetings to inform teammates and management of status.
  • Assist the in-house support team with product defect exploration, including:
    • High-level technical assistance and escalations to end-users and internal staff, as needed.
    • Troubleshoot and analyze technical issues related to software applications, reports, data, etc., as needed.
  • Present product expertise in training and implementation environments.
  • Build and execute automated test cases.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a QA role, including:
    • Experience with system/integration/user acceptance testing.
    • Experience with testing plans, documentation, process, and testing execution on multiple development deliverables.
    • At least 2 years of SQL/relevant database experience.
    • Experience with traditional Scrum, Agile, and Waterfall methodologies.
    • Experience with at least one of the following programming languages: C#, Java, Python.
    • Experience with test automation using Selenium.

  • Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes.
  • Knowledge of technical aspects of Business Systems and Infrastructure.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Well-versed in testing automation, end-user desktop tools, and information security.
  • Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with attention to detail, focused on quality of work.
  • Ability to take the initiative in prioritizing, coordinating, and multi-tasking with composure.
  • Ability to work independently and as a contributing member of a team.

Work Environment

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as the employee works in an office setting, at an individual work station, using telephone and computer.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for most of the day.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a printer/copy machine.
