About the Role
Perform comprehensive testing of technical solutions to identify, isolate, and resolve software and system issues.
Responsibilities
- Translate functional requirements, business requirements, policy documentation, and technical designs into detailed test cases and testing scenarios.
- Develop and execute functional and technical test cases under the direction of test leads and senior QA team members.
- Perform manual testing activities including functional, regression, smoke, usability, and boundary testing.
- Maintain end-to-end traceability between requirements, test cases, designs, and software components.
- Aid in developing and maintaining Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs).
- Participate in defect identification, triage, retesting, tracking, and resolution.
- Analyze test results and identify root causes of technical and functional issues.
- Create and maintain QA documentation, test reports, defect reports, and test status updates.
- Clearly communicate testing progress, results, risks, and identified defects to technical and business stakeholders.
- Apply established SDLC processes and QA methodologies throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with business analysts, developers, project managers, test leads, and other stakeholders to ensure quality deliverables.
- Support testing activities for complex healthcare and Medicaid-related business processes.
- Work effectively on complex, change-oriented projects in both structured and Agile delivery environments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Technical, Business, Healthcare, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may substitute for formal education.
- 2+ years of experience translating business requirements or policy documentation into test cases and testing scenarios.
- 2+ years of experience with manual testing techniques, including functional, regression, smoke, usability, and boundary testing.
- 3+ years of in-depth knowledge of healthcare operations and business processes, preferably within Medicaid.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and SDLC processes.
- Ability to develop, execute, document, and maintain comprehensive test cases.
- Strong defect tracking, analysis, retesting, and resolution skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience working with large enterprise or e-business systems.
- 3+ years of experience using QA and testing tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or similar platforms.
- 3+ years of experience working within a standard SDLC/Waterfall methodology.
- 3+ years of experience working in an Agile delivery environment.
- Experience with technical and/or project management certifications is desirable.
- Experience working on large-scale healthcare or Medicaid technology modernization initiatives is a plus.
