About the role

Quality Assurance Analyst (5 years) – Long term contract based in Chicago, IL. Responsible for developing and executing formal test plans to ensure delivery of quality software applications, with focus on data warehousing and reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute formal test plans to ensure quality software delivery.
• Perform test planning, write test cases and scripts, create test case automation, and execute tests.
• Document all problems and defects.
• Work with business to understand requirements.
• Coordinate with operations team for build deployment and execution in the test environment.
• Track defects and report on testing progress and results.
• Define approach to validating capabilities; develop testing strategies and test plans including functional, regression, negative, deployment, ETL job execution (Control‑M/Control Center) and error‑handling testing.
• Deliverables: Test Strategy, Test Plan, Traceability Matrix, Test Cases, Test Data, Test Results, Test Defects, and Build Assessment documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience building test strategies, test plans, test scripts, test execution, and defect tracking/reporting for data warehousing and reporting.
• Exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently to meet target dates.
• Ability to define validation approach and develop testing strategies.

Skills

• Advanced SQL, UNIX, Control‑M, Control Center, and ETL (Ab Initio).
• Ability to read Ab‑Initio Psets, graphs (.mp) and XFR’s to understand code base.
• Proficiency with Ab Initio Test Data Management (TDM) tool for mock‑up and upload of test data.
