About the Role
The Quality Assistant is responsible for assisting the Population Health team with meeting quality goals, containing costs, and improving performance utilization. The assistant works closely with the practice-based care managers, physician practice managers, and office staff to support various quality initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Uploads information to various insurance portals
- Sorts and compiles reports for distribution to the quality team
- Assists with gap and order correspondence electronically or telephonically
- Maintains various quality forms for the physician practices
- Aids in the education of new policies and procedures designed to enhance quality care
- Ensures quality and regulatory standards are being met
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Medical Assistant Certification (AAMA CMA, AMT RMA, NHA CCMA, or NCCT NCMA)
- 3 years of experience in a healthcare organization interacting directly with patients or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with EHR orders, results, referrals, and prior authorizations
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft products
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the use of electronic mail
- Excellent human relations skills to serve as a team member
- Adaptable to change
- Detailed orientation and excellent organizational skills
Qualifications
- Applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of employment
Skills
- Understanding of population health strategy
- Knowledge of value-based reimbursement programs
