QMHP - FT Intake Specialist
About the role
This is a 40‑hour/week night shift (2300‑0930, Monday‑Thursday, no weekends) with a holiday requirement. The position is virtual/work‑from‑home after a 4‑week in‑person training at Christian Hospital. Candidates must reside in Missouri or Illinois. You will perform crisis evaluations across 13 BJC facilities virtually for behavioral health and substance use patients and clients. BJC Behavioral Health is a community health center serving over 8,000 seriously mentally ill adults and seriously emotionally disturbed children in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. François, Iron and Washington counties, acting as an Administrative Agent of the Missouri Department of Mental Health and gatekeeper to the public mental health system. The Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) provides comprehensive evaluation and education services to mental health and chemically dependent patients as part of a multi‑disciplinary team working with multiple health services organizations (HSOs) via in‑person and telehealth.
Responsibilities
- Perform crisis evaluations for behavioral health patients in Emergency Departments and behavioral health/substance use patients in inpatient units across BJC.
- Provide necessary resources, complete safety plans, talk with friends/family for collateral information, complete affidavits when necessary.
- Collaborate with physicians, social workers, nurses, psychiatrists.
- Attend/attest to mandatory meetings and trainings.
- Complete mental health and chemical dependency assessments in emergency department and inpatient units.
- Monitor patient progress
