QC Technician II
General Summary
This position is responsible for sampling, testing, and inspecting construction materials or elements in a laboratory or field setting to ensure compliance with the supplier and/or owner specifications.
Essential Job Accountabilities
- Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products
- Obtain and maintain certifications as required to perform testing
- Maintain thorough understanding of specifications, testing and reporting requirements
- Ability to communicate and schedule QC activities with crew and inspection personnel
- Ability to interpret specifications and discuss/argue with crew and inspection staff
- Ability to make decisions based on knowledge of specifications and testing requirements
- Interprets engineering drawings to make sure work is being performed in accordance with plans and specifications
- Collect material samples, send samples to lab, interpret test results and distribute information to crews and inspection staff
- Maintain all QC log books and reports in accordance with specifications
- Follow all OSHA and Company safety policies and procedures, including attendance at safety meetings
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Education and Work Experience
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- 4+ years of related experience required
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Basic computer skills
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to talk and hear
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate a computer keyboard
- Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision and ability to adjust focus
