Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow all Redbarn policies and procedures
  • Perform product inspections during the receiving and production process
  • Report any issues or irregularities to the QA Supervisor and QA Manager
  • Monitor and maintain calibration of all QA lab equipment
  • Monitor and maintain validation of scales and metal detectors
  • Perform audits
  • Prepare samples for submission to the micro lab
  • Adhere to FDA and USDA rules and regulations

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous work experience is a plus
  • An associate degree or some college with direct quality experience is preferred

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Basic knowledge of Internet software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software is required
  • Understanding of lab practices
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong time management skills

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand and talk or hear
  • Frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms
  • Occasionally required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and peripheral vision

Work Environment

  • Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
