QA Lab Technologist
About the role
The QA Lab Technologist position at FIXX Energy LLC is based in Smyrna, TN. This full-time, on-site role involves performing daily testing and inspections on batteries and components to ensure the highest standards of safety and product quality. Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, you will partner with Quality Engineering to investigate manufacturing and warranty concerns, using your technical expertise to evaluate quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate advanced laboratory equipment, including HPLC, GC-MS, ICP-OES, SEM, CT scanners, cycle testing equipment, and optical/digital microscopes.
- Prepare and analyze samples utilizing wet chemistry methods and perform routine quality checks on various battery components.
- Analyze materials and finished products to confirm strict conformance to technical specifications.
- Conduct rigorous failure analysis on manufacturing defects and warranty parts to identify root causes.
- Resolve complex technical issues, develop alternative solutions, and provide actionable recommendations for current operations and future development.
- Present findings and influence leadership on specific strategic recommendations regarding operations and product development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (Chemistry, Biology, Physics, etc.).
- Two or more years of manufacturing or other laboratory experience.
- Experience with lab equipment such as GCMS, HPLC, ICP-OES, and microscopes.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite of software.
- Understanding and following all standards of IATF16949, VDA 6.3 quality standards, and ISO14001 environmental standards.
Nice to have
- Experience reporting and presenting on technical laboratory results.
- Experience maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment.
- Experience with CT or X-ray operation and analysis.
Qualifications

- Experience with lab equipment such as GCMS, HPLC, ICP-OES, and microscopes.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite of software.
