About the Role

The SPD/OR Liaison manages daily clinical and administrative operations within their designated surgical specialty. They support OR staff by preparing the surgical suite, verifying instrument kits, and coordinating instrument needs through daily reviews with coordinators. They monitor case flow, track instrument requirements, and resolve issues to ensure smooth surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform audits of KPIs, case carts, and instruments to identify operational improvements.
  • Analyze data to detect trends and address issues in OR and SPD.
  • Communicate instrument priorities and resolve instrumentation problems impacting surgery.
  • Process and clean equipment per manufacturer guidelines, ensuring instrument availability.
  • Document inventory, equipment requests, and kit updates, collaborating with team members and physicians.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree preferred, especially in Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in Sterile Processing; five years preferred.
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) required.
