QA Technician - Sterile Processing

About the role

The SPD/OR Liaison oversees daily clinical and administrative operations for specialized surgical services, supporting the OR team and ensuring efficient instrument and equipment management.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the OR suite and verify instrument kits before surgeries.
  • Collaborate with OR Coordinators to forecast instrument needs and monitor case flow.
  • Conduct audits of KPIs, including case cart, room, and kit audits, analyzing data to identify operational issues.
  • Coordinate instrument planning, communicate with surgical teams, and address instrumentation issues.
  • Respond to surgery-related problems and ensure proper equipment processing per guidelines.
  • Maintain documentation for inventory, equipment requests, and kit updates.
  • Work with team members to update pick-lists and ensure kit accuracy.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree preferred, especially in Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology.
  • Minimum of three years’ Sterile Processing experience; five years preferred.
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) certification required.
  • Additional certifications in SPD leadership, instrument tech, or endoscopy preferred.
