About the Role
The SPD/OR Liaison oversees daily clinical and administrative operations for specific surgical services, supporting surgical teams and ensuring efficient sterile processing.
Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and verify instrument kits before surgeries.
- Collaborate with OR Coordinators to forecast instrument needs and monitor case flow.
- Conduct audits of KPI data, identify operational trends, and address instrumentation issues.
- Coordinate instrument planning, communicate priorities, and resolve surgical instrumentation problems.
- Process, clean, and document instrumentation per manufacturer guidelines.
- Assist with inventory management, kit updates, and documentation, collaborating with staff and physicians.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree preferred, especially in Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology.
- Minimum three years' Sterile Processing experience; five years preferred.
- Certifications: CRCST or CSPDT required; additional certifications preferred.
Skills
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills essential for coordinating surgical instrumentation and team support.
