QA/QC Inspector

About the Role

Under general supervision, applies skills and knowledge to determine the degree of conformance of materials, equipment, and installation to company or client specifications. Performs inspections, generates reports, notifies management of significant problems, and completes documentation to attest to satisfactory completion of inspection or test activities.

Responsibilities

• Promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures.
• Inspect and ensure the quality of work performed during daily construction activities on large-scale wind, solar, and industrial projects, including roads, environmental (SWPPP), excavations, concrete, rebar, substations, transmission lines, solar racking, PV installation, underground utilities, wind turbine installation, steel erection, welding, piping, valves, pumps, compressors, and other mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Plan and conduct daily activities in a highly organized manner to ensure all QC and QA data are properly and accurately recorded.
• Monitor and record all work scope being executed daily, following reporting criteria as determined by FQM and/or the client.
• Prevent deficiencies through pre-construction quality control inspections.
• Detect and address deficiencies in a timely and effective manner.
• Work closely with field quality staff, acting as their field representative, ensuring construction understands and follows QA/QC requirements.
• Interface with field supervision to maintain communication, monitor job progress, schedules, and subcontractor performance.
• Maintain complete and accurate records during inspections for transfer to permanent files.
• Inspect work and establish punch lists.
• Determine calibration status of measuring and test equipment.
• Ensure daily task schedules are met to align with the project schedule.
• Interact cross-functionally with craft personnel and other team members.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field, OR High School Graduate or equivalent (GED) plus 1-3 years of experience in a related construction field.
• Inspection-related certifications, such as NDE, preferred.

• Ability to independently perform work and be a self-starter.
• Good organizational, planning, and time management skills.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints and technical procedures.
• Proficiency in writing daily reports and documenting project activities.
• Skill in collecting and recording field data to ensure compliance with Quality Control procedures.
• Preferred: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as area, circumference, and volume.
• Preferred: Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Problem-solving skills, both individually and in a team setting.

Pay

$19.00-$23.00/hourly, commensurate with experience.
