About the role
The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for administering the company quality program in accordance with customer and company requirements.
Responsibilities
- Inspect products, such as forgings, bars, sheets, castings, and strips, for conformity to customer specifications
- Use measuring instruments to examine products for flatness, straightness, and defects, such as cracks, slivers, or scars
- Mark defective areas with chalk or paint
- Verify dimensions of product, using micrometers, gauges, tapes, and templates
- Conduct hardness tests, using hardness testing machines
- Reject products not meeting specifications
- Prepare reports covering materials scrapped or salvaged
- Communicate effectively (verbal and written) with all contacts
- Accept and adapt easily to change
- Ensure that all activities are consistent with Company Mission Statement
- Operate job-related equipment with or without an accommodation
- Meet physical demands of job with or without an accommodation
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 2+ years of previous experience required; aircraft parts inspection preferred
- Knowledge of AS9100 Rev C preferred
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Read, write, and speak English fluently
- Proficient with basic shop math
- Sense of urgency
- Ability to meet frequent short timeline goals and deadlines
