QA Inspector

About the Role

This position follows a rotating 7am-7pm schedule and is responsible for quality inspection, process improvement, and testing of extruded products.

Responsibilities

• Perform all quality inspection and checks, including 3-Tier Dimensional, Length, Surface, Go Gauge Fit, Color, Bow, and Impact Testing.
• Make accept and reject decisions for production quality.
• Notify extrusion teams of substandard production results and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes.
• Collect data and monitor samples according to VEKA Standards.
• Evaluate extruded products to assist in developing Tooling Maintenance Requests (TMR).
• Perform all AAMA 3O3 testing and document results.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.

Skills

• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of using measuring devices such as Datacolor, Ascona/Promex Profile Measurement, Comparator, Calipers, and Loupe Magnifiers (preferred).
• Ability to communicate issues tactfully across multiple teams.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Keen attention to detail, accuracy, and precision.
• Excellent computer literacy, specifically in Excel/MS Office suite.
• Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Ability to use discretionary authority.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Science or Engineering-related field, or a minimum of 3 years of quality experience and/or science-related experience.

Physical Requirements

• Perform physical activities including climbing, balancing, stooping, reaching, kneeling, crouching, crawling, walking, grasping, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
• Available for predictable and regular onsite attendance to perform essential functions.
• Work in narrow aisles or passageways.
