QA Automation Test Engineer

About the role

IDR is seeking a QA Automation Test Engineer to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity. This role involves supporting data and analytics projects within the public sector, with a focus on testing dashboards, data pipelines, and automation processes to ensure data integrity and system performance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for data pipelines and dashboards.
• Review user stories and acceptance criteria to develop comprehensive testing strategies.
• Validate dashboard functionality, data accuracy, and KPI calculations.
• Identify, document, and track defects through resolution.
• Collaborate closely with developers, Business Analysts, and BI Engineers throughout Agile sprints.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience as a QA/Test Engineer supporting data or analytics projects.
• Experience supporting Workers' Compensation systems, claims, or business operations.
• Strong hands-on experience designing, developing, and executing automated test flows; this role requires deeper automation expertise and is not primarily a manual QA position.
• Experience with performance testing and identifying performance, scalability, and data-quality issues.
• Must be highly self-sufficient and comfortable independently determining testing approaches, troubleshooting issues, and driving work forward without relying on predefined checklists or step-by-step direction.
