About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software solutions. This individual will be responsible for generating comprehensive test documentation, performing end-to-end testing, and developing automated test cases to streamline testing processes. The role involves translating business requirements into technical testing strategies, executing testing scenarios across multiple development methodologies, and collaborating closely with engineering teams to identify and resolve defects. The QA Specialist will also be instrumental in assessing risks, creating test plans, and maintaining detailed records of testing activities. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with a background in QA to contribute to impactful government projects, ensuring solutions meet high standards of functionality, performance, and security.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or related field
  • 2-5 years of experience in a QA role, including system, integration, and user acceptance testing
  • Proven experience with testing plans, documentation, and execution across multiple development frameworks
  • At least 2 years of SQL or relevant database experience
  • Hands-on experience with traditional Scrum, Agile, and Waterfall methodologies
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C#, Java, or Python
  • Experience with test automation tools, preferably Selenium
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes and technical aspects of business systems and infrastructure
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Translate business requirements into detailed technical testing strategies and configuration settings for software applications
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with programs or projects, implementing risk reduction plans as needed
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies to ensure solutions meet standards for functionality, performance, and reliability
  • Collaborate with team leads and engineering resources to design effective testing approaches
  • Perform end-to-end testing efficiently, adhering to project deadlines and quality standards
  • Build, maintain, and execute automated test cases to improve testing efficiency and coverage
  • Record, log, and track defects systematically, coordinating with development teams for timely resolution
  • Analyze test results to identify defects or undesirable outcomes and document findings clearly
  • Manage testing activities throughout the full project lifecycle, independently owning specific workstreams or product lines
  • Participate in daily engineering meetings to communicate testing status and coordinate efforts
  • Assist support teams with product defect analysis, troubleshooting, and technical assistance for end-users and internal staff
  • Present product expertise in training and implementation sessions as required
  • Perform additional duties related to quality assurance and testing as assigned
