About the Role
As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will thoroughly test software changes, report bugs, and create test artifacts including test cases, checklists, and shared testing data. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our product meets the highest standards of quality while supporting and improving our release velocity. This role requires consistent focus throughout the week and is not well-suited for candidates juggling multiple full-time contracts.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test cases, checklists, and shared testing data to validate software changes.
- Report, troubleshoot, and prioritize bugs with clear and concise documentation.
- Define and implement holistic testing approaches, including risk-based and context-driven testing.
- Own end-to-end testing and develop subject matter expertise in the products and systems under test.
- Advocate for quality throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Review and analyze requirements to ensure adequate test coverage.
- Participate in bug triages and collaborate closely with product and engineering teams from early stages of development.
- Identify and surface opportunities for process improvements to enhance team efficiency.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to evaluate, understand, and clarify requirements.
- Proven experience with hands-on testing of web, mobile, backend, and AI tooling.
- Demonstrated success working independently in a fully remote environment with exceptional self-management and autonomy.
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills for effective asynchronous and remote collaboration.
- Positive attitude, growth mindset, and proactive problem-solving approach.
- Experience in reviewing requirements, defining testing strategies, and participating in bug triages.
Schedule
You can work any hours, aiming for at least 3 hours overlapping with HQ’s hours (based in SLC, Utah). This role is open to candidates located anywhere outside of the United States.
