Putnam Vocational Technical Academy Fall Coaching Positions
All assignments are contingent upon sufficient number of participants and funding. Positions will remain open until filled.
Pay
Salaries are structured in three steps based on years of supervision in the activity:
- Step 1: First year of supervision – $1,803.00
- Step 2: Second year of supervision – $2,050.00
- Step 3: Third year and beyond – $2,378.00
Salaries are based on the current collective bargaining agreement.
Responsibilities
- Oversee sport and travel program
- Select team for travel season
- Develop daily practice schedule
- Supervise students at all times
- Check on eligibility of all athletes
- Check attendance daily
- Establish rules and expectations for athletes
- Supervise students during away games on bus
- Issue equipment and collect it at the end of the season
- Secure building permits
- Be aware of MSSADA Rules and Regulations
- Complete CPR Training and the "Concussion in Sports" course (required)
Qualifications
- Knowledgeable of the sport or activity
- Good communication skills
- Able to successfully instruct and encourage athletes
- CPR/First Aid and Coaches Education certified
- Concussion certification required for all coaching candidates
