Purchasing Specialist

About the role

Smith is looking for a Purchasing Specialist to join our team. Our diverse portfolio of components can be found in consumer electronics, automotive, medical devices, solar, and aerospace & defense.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with internal customers (e.g., Sales) to increase revenue and maintain customer satisfaction.
• Develop, establish, build, and maintain solid vendor relationships.
• Source, negotiate prices, and expedite purchase orders (POs).
• Execute and manage POs and dispute resolutions in a timely manner.
• Develop and demonstrate working knowledge of Smith’s purchasing methodology, commodities, services, industry standards, and terminology.
• Interface with Operations and Accounting departments to ensure POs are processed seamlessly and meet the needs of the customer.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience of 1-2 years in purchasing.
• General knowledge of supply chain management.
