Vendor & Communication Management
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with salespeople, vendors, and customers regarding orders, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with employees regarding job orders and tool orders.
- Negotiate pricing and delivery terms with vendors to ensure cost-effective and timely procurement.
Purchasing & Order Processing
- Order die components for the in-stock crib, including bolts, dowels, and related hardware.
- Send CAD data to vendors for quoting and order placement.
- MATCH invoices with purchase orders to ensure accuracy prior to payment processing.
- Track invoices related to shipping and freight (e.g., UPS, freight carriers).
Tooling & Equipment Coordination
- Track and file tool warranties on behalf of employees.
- Track and coordinate repair services for machinery.
Systems & Reporting
- Input and maintain purchasing records.
- Prepare annual spending summaries by vendor and account.
Facilities & Grounds
- Coordinate building and grounds upkeep, including lawn care, snow removal, and holiday decorations.
- Coordinate steel recycling processes.
General
- Complete additional tasks and projects as directed by senior management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related administrative role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to negotiate effectively with vendors and suppliers.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly with invoice/PO matching and recordkeeping.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook); experience with purchasing/document management software (e.g., OnBase) a plus.
- Experience in a manufacturing, tooling, or die/mold environment preferred.
- Familiarity with reading or handling CAD files preferred.
- Experience tracking warranties, service contracts, or equipment maintenance schedules preferred.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
- Primarily an office-based role with regular interaction with shop floor personnel.
- Occasional lifting of supplies or components (up to 50 lbs — fill in per company standard).
- Use of PPE (safety glasses, steel-toe boots, gloves, hearing protection) required.
