Purchasing Coordinator
About the role
Works closely with Buyers and other cross-functional teams to articulate G&W Electric's requirements with the supplier base to achieve positive outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Issue purchase orders for MRO/Indirect requisitions, quotes, and MRP related purchases
- Consult catalogs and other references to obtain prices and specifications
- Follow up with suppliers on late POs and expedite as necessary
- Onboard new suppliers as needed
- Manage VMI program for MRO/Indirect category
- Expedite POs to ensure on-time delivery
- Aid buyers in maintaining data in ERP system
- Communicate and distribute order confirmation details to functional team members
- Maintain department’s ISO work instructions
- Handle moderately complex issues and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff
Requirements
- Holds an Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education, work experience, and skill development
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Good computer skills, including MS Word and MS Excel
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Basic MRP system understanding
- Good problem-solving skills
- The ability to negotiate delivery dates and pricing with suppliers
Qualifications
- Physical demands include a general office environment, PC use, light lifting (occasional 25 lbs. or less), sitting frequently, stooping occasionally, and prolonged computer usage.

Pay
The pay range is typically between $46,945 – 57,503 annually. Pay is based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications.
