Purchasing Coordinator

About the role

Works closely with Buyers and other cross-functional teams to articulate G&W Electric's requirements with the supplier base to achieve positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Issue purchase orders for MRO/Indirect requisitions, quotes, and MRP related purchases
• Consult catalogs and other references to obtain prices and specifications
• Follow up with suppliers on late POs and expedite as necessary
• Onboard new suppliers as needed
• Manage VMI program for MRO/Indirect category
• Expedite POs to ensure on-time delivery
• Aid buyers in maintaining data in ERP system
• Communicate and distribute order confirmation details to functional team members
• Maintain department’s ISO work instructions
• Handle moderately complex issues and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff

Requirements

• Holds an Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education, work experience, and skill development
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Good computer skills, including MS Word and MS Excel
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Basic MRP system understanding
• Good problem-solving skills
• The ability to negotiate delivery dates and pricing with suppliers

Qualifications

• Physical demands include a general office environment, PC use, light lifting (occasional 25 lbs. or less), sitting frequently, stooping occasionally, and prolonged computer usage.

Pay

The pay range is typically between $46,945 – 57,503 annually. Pay is based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications.
