About The Role This role is essential in ensuring the correct materials are received on time to meet customer demand and maintain inventory levels. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing procurement processes by projecting and planning for both production products and raw materials. This position requires negotiation skills, an understanding of procurement management, and the manufacturing process. What You'll Do Edit purchase requests and prepares purchase orders.Consult catalogs and other references to obtain prices and specifications.Maintain files and records of materials, prices, inventories and deliveries.Perform related clerical duties.May contact vendors and suppliers for quotations, and follow up on outstanding purchase orders.Communicate with short haul driver for route updates and changes. Qualifications Performs work under direct supervision.Handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter.High school diploma and 0 to 2 years of experience.Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office SuiteCompetent business writing and phone etiquette.
