The Purchasing Clerk provides essential operational and administrative support to the Purchasing Department by assisting with daily purchasing, receiving, and storeroom operations. This role is responsible for maintaining organized storage areas, fulfilling and delivering departmental requisitions, supporting receiving activities, managing guest and colleague package logistics, and assisting with inventory processes. The Purchasing Clerk plays a critical role in ensuring accurate inventory management, timely distribution of products and supplies, and the efficient flow of goods throughout the property. Through maintaining clean, safe, and organized receiving and storage areas, this position supports operational excellence, internal customer satisfaction, and an exceptional guest experience. Responsibilities Process, fulfill, and deliver departmental requisitions accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain storeroom inventory by stocking products to established par levels, ensuring proper organization, rotation, and inventory control. Manage guest package operations, including receiving, tracking, storing, and distributing guest and colleague packages. Scan and process invoices following receipt completion in BirchStreet. Receive, verify, and distribute incoming deliveries and shipments while serving as a secondary receiver during high-volume delivery periods. Maintain clean, organized, and secure storerooms, receiving areas, and loading docks. Remove cardboard, recyclables, and trash from receiving and storage areas in accordance with property standards. Prepare inventory count sheets and assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory counts. Support month-end inventory preparation and reconciliation processes. Assist with delivery put-away, product organization, and inventory accuracy initiatives as business needs require. Coordinate vendor deliveries and assist with the efficient distribution of products throughout the property. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, receiving procedures, and inventory control practices. Provide general administrative and operational support to the Purchasing Department and assist with special projects as assigned. Qualifications Qualifications Previous purchasing, receiving, warehouse, storeroom, or inventory experience preferred. Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and inventory management systems. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience with BirchStreet or similar purchasing systems preferred. Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry moderate to heavy loads. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday. Flexible schedule required, including weekends, holidays, and peak business periods. Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment and adapt to changing operational demands.
