Punch Press Operator - Centralia, MO
A Day In The Life
Operator will be required to set-up, operate, and adjust machines and equipment to produce a good quality product. Examples of machines and equipment include punch press, straightener, feed machine, press brake, furnace, crane, forklift, conveyor, cutting torch, blade folding, riveting, conveying, boxing, banding, strapping, leading, painting, and other departmental equipment. Duties may include inspecting, gauging, counting, heating, blanking, perforating, shearing, forming, sorting, assembling, painting, boxing, palletizing, bundling, banding, nutting, sorting, boxing, twisting, deburring, and stacking.
- Read and interpret drawings, routing sheets
- Use calipers, gages, measuring devices, visual inspections
- Record production, record scrap
- Perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) as required
- Make visual inspections, separate parts, record production, record scrap, keep required production records, and other operations as required
- Furnish own hand tools
- Maintain machines, equipment, and work area in a clean and orderly manner
What Will Help You Thrive in This Role?
- Sit and/or stand for a minimum of eight hours
- Walk, hear, see, and have full use of both hands
- Lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist and waist to floor
- Lift and carry 100 lb. cartons a distance of 3 feet and place on a pallet
- Load 80 lbs. onto a die cart and transport it
- Push and/or pull 415 lbs. a distance of 2 feet
